Glamping

RUSTIC, CHARMING, RELAXING.

Built in the late 1890s, this semi-detached house was originally home to the caretakers who tended  Glen Dye Lodge. In 2018 it underwent a complete top-to-bottom refurbishment. It sleeps six in two king size beds and two singles. Large kitchen/dining room, large hallway, large sitting room. Two bathrooms, two loos.  No detail has been overlooked to make this a perfect holiday home.

North Lodge sits on the banks of the River Dye, Venture along a private footpath that winds its way alongside the river and the Summer House, and you will find the River Cabin and your own outdoor haven. It has everything you need for a day or evening of outdoor mucking around, wild swimming and cooking, including a wood burning stove and a Big Green Egg (possibly the best barbecue in the world). It also has its own Swedish wood-fired hot tub (the best in the world, we think) in floodlit woodland.

As a guest at North Lodge you also have full access to The Glen Dye Arms, a BYOB pub complete with roaring log fire, ancient bar and record player. You can also use our amazing wood-fired sauna, which was custom-built for us in Wales.

We have seasonal vegetables from our very own garden, which you are welcome to pick yourself or we can pick for you. There are eggs from the Glen Dye hens and you will find these in the shop in the office opposite the Sauna where we also have a carefully curated collection of store cupboard staples, fresh local meat, frozen local fish and homemade ready meals, and more prosaic things like firelighters, poo bags and midge repellent. And of course a collection of souvenirs to remember your stay by.

“I stayed in the 1898 North Lodge and it was a total dream, sleeping six people with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. from the minute you arrive you feel at home and once you get the fire going you can seriously switch off.”
